DALBUKKI
'DALBUKKI' is an audiovisual performance.
DALBUKKI is the short version of the Korean words Dal (moon), Geobuk (terrapin) and Tokki (rabbit). Moon, terrapin and rabbit can be found in lots of Korean fairy tales. One of this fairy tales in the Pansori* – the Korean traditional opera – is called 'Su-Gung Ga'**. The story is about a crafty rabbit and a faithful terrapin. Ge-Suk Yeo's DALBUKKI deforms the story and transforms it into modern spirit: Now it narrates from a terrapin which fells in love with the moon, a raging search of the rabbit and somebody who feels followed by the moon. -
