[2008.05.03] Re:New - digital arts forum in Copenhagen 

We are invited to present Ge-Suk Yeo's project ilgob-sorigori live at the Re:New 2008 festival. Re:New 2008 presents during May 19-23 in Copenhagen a wide selection of the newest ground-breaking works of digital music, video, installations, performative, and distributed/collaborative art. Re:New 2008 will present over 30 individual events, with space for around 150 art-works, and will be a meeting-point for artists and art users from all over the world.

"Neue Musik - composers of our time write petite pieces for the zither" - that's the title of a small booklet of scores, just recently published at Musikverlag Peter Grünwald (www.zither.de). Publisher is the composer Peter Hoch. Other composers involved are Uli J. Kieckbusch, Benjamin Lang, Ursula Euteneuer-Rohrer, Mia Schmidt, Peter Hoch, Udo Diegelmann, Matthias Kaul and Ge-Suk Yeo.

Ge-Suk Yeo is invited as resident artist at STEIM from late September to early October. Steim is a center for research & development of instruments & tools for performers in the electronic performance arts based in Amsterdam.

Ge-Suk Yeo and her composition 'Windgefluester' is one of the six winners of the composition contest 'MONO @ Gasometer'. The project is organized by the DEGEM (the German section of the CIME 'Confédération Internationale de Musique Electroacoustique') and the Gasometer Oberhausen GmbH. The compositions are for a concert series with electro-acoustic compositions, especially composed for this special location 'Gasometer' in Oberhausen, Germany, a 117,5 meter high Steel tower with a complex reverb- and multi echo acoustic.

Our experimental live series will present 'Moving Strings' with the Hamburg based Cellist Wittwulf Y Malik and Christoph Irmer (Violine) from Wuppertal, who creates a free and choicest world of sounds. May 20 our latest project 'Gang Gang - a cycle of four sound poems' will premiere at the Athens VideoDance Festival 07. VideoDance started seven years ago as an international dance film festival, but soon it widened up to include more kinds of experiment on movement and the moving image. Today VideoDance presents a showcase of the latest experiments on media and movement or, in other words, at the crossroads of visual arts, enhanced cinema and performing arts.

From August 4th-5th soundart met dance at the 'Forum Space-Sound-Dance' in Hamburg: Wittwulf Y Malik (cello) and Ge-Suk Yeo (voc, elec.) connected the music of their new CD 'White Room' (ART 012) with the modern dance of the Korean dancer Kisook Cho.

Our most recent CD 'White Room' can be located somewhere in between contemporary music and sound art: Wittwulf Y Malik’s expressive cello and Ge-Suk Yeo’s beautiful voice come together in an exciting, sometimes tender, dialogue. Some parts are adorned with excellent electro-acoustic sounds by Ge-Suk Yeo.

International Sculpture Biennale takes place in the city of Poznan biannually and already has a history of more than thirty years. This year's Biennale will bring together approximately one hundred thirty works by ninety artists from Poland and number of other European countries. February 27th the Trio Chroch from Denmark will join Ge-Suk Yeo and Hans Schüttler in the new Club 69, Ifflandstr. 69. March 21st Olivia Block (composer, electronic) - Chicago, Guiseppe Ielasi (guitar, founder of Fringes Recordings) - Milano and the EKG, an electroacoustic duo project of Kyle Bruckman (english horn, analog electronic) and Ernst Karel (trumpet, analog electronics) - Chicago will be at the Atelier 20A, Friedensallee 20a in Hamburg.

Together with 12 artisits from Korea, Ge-Suk Yeo presents her project 'The Talking Wall' in the Maronnier Art Center in Seoul, Korea. The exhibition is open from February 10th to March 11th 2004. Concerts will take place Feb. 5th at Jazz Club Evans in Seoul, Feb. 6th at Artreon Galery at a benefit for the Seoul Woman Film Festival where they will be joined by the dancer Mi-Hee Kang, Feb. 12th at Sanchack in Taegu and Feb. 13th at Jaco Jazz Club, Jeonju.
